About the Alliance

We are an intergenerational group of organisers and campaigners from across the UK working to shift power and money to young people.

We support young people to organise towards change that serves them and their communities. We prioritise social, economic, racial, disability, gender and environmental justice in all we do.

About the Role

We are seeking co-leads because we know that people will bring different but complementary skills and experiences to our work.

And we want to trial new ways of working that centre collective leadership.

Since our launch two years ago, we have:

  • Designed a strategy that aims to:
    • strengthen political education for young people
    • improve disability inclusion in youth organising
    • find and fund work in 'youth organising deserts'
    • promotes international solidarity
    • and ultimately connect and strengthen the field of youth organising.
  • Moved over £1 million to youth organising groups across the UK in the pursuit of these aims.

To propel this work, we are now recruiting two co-leads who can work with us to:

  • Consolidate and share the learning from these investments and from the wider field of youth organising. Use this to influence funders to drive more and better money to youth organising.
  • Strengthen our grantmaking. .
  • Support us to deepen our networks and knowledge as we aim to strengthen the field of youth organising and create fertile conditions for those that follow.
  • Manage our operations and communications
    • finding time and space for us to meet
    • supporting us to deliver key projects and plans
    • sharing information and updates with our partners and the field of youth organising.

These roles will sit within the Civic Power Fund, who host the Alliance for Youth Organising. However, they are accountable to the Alliance to deliver on our workplan and mission.

We encourage people to apply either as individuals, noting which areas they hope to cover, or together, noting their complementary skills and experiences and how they would split the role.
